    Anselm

    A Philosopher

    • Saint Anselm of Canterbury

    English Philsopher

    Christian Platonist

    [1033-1109]

As a Platonist, it is quite obvious that much of Anselm's work comes from Plato and his dialogues.

Pertinent information for Anselm is as follows:

He was born in Italy, and became a Benedictian English Philsophical Theologian.

His most famous contribution to philosophy comes from his ontological proof of the existence of God and the satisfaction theory of the atonement.

Two of his most famous works are "Monlogion" and "Prologion." Both of these works have ontological proofs of God's existence, and the way the universe works.

Anselm also published "De Concodia" and four other teaching dialogues, "De Grammatico," "De Veritate," "De libertate arbitrii" and "De Casu Diaboli." Most notable is the similar structure of all these works.
