Friedrich Engels Friedrich Engels A Philosopher Friedrich Engels German Social Philosopher 1820-1895 Engels's is best known for his collaborations with Marx. The works they did together include: The Communist Manifesto [1848] Das Kapital [3 vol. 1867-94]---(Marx edited this book). Marx and Engel's are best known for the Communist Manifesto, where they support the Proletariat revolution over the Bougeoisie. However, the Revolutions of 1948 failed and Engels settled in England. He and marx founded the International Workingmen's Association (there are allusions to this group in the Manifesto), and Engels helped support Marx financially as he continued to discourse on political and economic theory. On his own, Engels wrote several major pieces: The Condition of the Working Class.
