Soren Aabye Kierkegaard Soren Aabye Kierkegaard A Philosopher Kierkegaard Danish Postmodernist, Existenialist, Thinker and Writer [1813-1855] Kierkegaard is remembered in the world of philosophy for his attempts to clarify misrepresentations of Christian lifestyles. Kierkegaard's main topics about Christianity concerned the stages of life, self-identity and the maturation of humanity. Surprisingly, not all of Kierkegaard's work is religous in nature. His Christian works touch on issues in the Bible directly, while his non-religous works touched on other seminal philosophical topics at the time. Perhaps Kierkegaard's most important work is his critique of Hegel's absolute idealism. Kierkegaard is called the father of existenialism because of the impact he had on Sartre and Camus.
