Lao-Tzu Lao-Tzu A Philosopher Lao-Tzu Chinese Taoist [6th Century BCE] Lao Tzu is the founder of Chinese Taoism. Almost nothing is known of Lao-Tzu's life, but we know of Lao-Tzu from Zhuangzi. It is claimed that Lao-Tzu held official rank. It is also suggested by Taoists that Lao-Tzu lived more than once and travelled to India where he became Buddha.
